PolicyLink's Equity Summit: Gathering, Grounding

So enjoyed being in my hometown this year for PolicyLink’s Equity Summit… this year (compared to past) felt even more like a beautiful convention of everyone I have or would like to work with. It felt extremely meaningful to see a huge hotel downtown taken over by thousands gathering to commit to doing the work necessary to create a more equitable society. Especially loved how Jeremy, Lorrie and the arts team wove culture in to the fabric of the event - from the pre-conference facilitated by CPCP, to poetry openings at panel discussions, to DS4SI’s Social Emergency Response Center. The closing plenary with john powell, especially his notes on whiteness, gave us a lot to think about, and after I tweeted about it opened up a good conversation with my brother on the topic.
